This is my twenty-first year teaching and my fifteenth year at Sycamore. I am very excited to teach three algebra honors courses and two 8th grade math courses. I absolutely love my job! Teaching and studying math is my passion and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and love of math with my students. I have a fantastic time explaining to kids how math is used in everyday life and is everywhere around us!

I grew up locally and graduated from Agoura High School ('93), earned my bachelors degrees at UCSB ('97), then continued to study with a cohort at UCLA & CSUN resulting in my teaching credentials and a Master's in Education ('99). My husband Brandon and I got married in beautiful Somis, CA in 2004. We have a son, Myles (10), a daughter, Paige (6), and
a "furry" child named Marley.

Aside from teaching math, I also coach the Sycamore Canyon Middle School Math Counts Team and advise the Kiwanis Builders Club. Both clubs are open for 6th-8th graders. See below for additional information.

MY PHILOSOPHY
I believe that children learn best in a stimulating, creative, and caring environment that allows for and acknowledges individual differences and abilities. Self-esteem is critical for student achievement on all levels and they should be recognized for their accomplishments. I will work rigorously to foster your child's unique potentials, to allow full development of his/her creativity and sensitivity, and
to encourage personal integrity, love of learning and self-fulfillment.
